Casks

Casks for all requirements.

They can be round or oval, standard or custom-made and are built using oak from several European origins, or other types of wood such as Acacia, Ash, Chestnut, etc. The staves are worked to full thickness (without removing a large part of the wood in the central/middle area to facilitate and accelerate subsequent bending) and are bent over a direct wood fire at a controlled temperature. The wetting of the staves with the necessary and correct amount of water at the same time preserves their suppleness.

On request and depending on the type of wine to be matured, the casks can be steam-treated (before or after toasting) to stabilise the concentration of tannins in the wood. To ensure long service life, the casks with more than 20 hl capacity have curved bottoms to better withstand the pressure of the contents.

Customisation

Installation of steel accessories (standard and optional), careful testing with water, and final treatment with a food-grade certified paint, complete the production cycle. To make your casks unique, we can make a bas-relief carving with the winery logo low down at the front.
